Kerachers Restaurant is listed with Top Table.com where customers can read reviews left by diners who have booked dinner on line.
The following is a review from The list restaurant guide latest edition.
The Keracher family have been selling and
serving fish for over 50 years, and now run a thriving fish
shop, wholesale business and restaurant. The spacious, comfortable
restaurant is literally above the shop. It's surprisingly light
and airy (thanks to its high ceiling and non smoking policy)
with glass-top tables, smart beech chairs and intriguing fish
friezes, like huge slate puzzles, on the walls.
The wholesome young waiting staff might rather
be at the bars and club across the road, but if so they don't
show it. Service is brisk, courteous and conscientious with
hands-on owners Peter and Pam Keracher never far away.
You won't find exotic imported fish here,
but very fresh, locally caught fish, traditionally presented.
A Finnan haddie pastry case is sublime, with warm, smoky fish
flavours and grated piquant cheddar spilling over the edge
of the brittle little case into the creamy leek sauce below.
Tender medallions of monkfish are unusually presented with
couscous and a tasty garlic, ginger and spring
onion dressing.
Keracher's also provides a chicken or beef
dish and vegetarian choice for non-fish eaters and the set
menu at £15 is good value Tuesday to Friday and
pre-theatre on Saturday.
